Music Instruction Building - Ball State University - Muncie, Indiana

The Ball State University School of Music existing facility, Hargreaves Music Building, included nearly everthing the school needed but lacked large choral and orchestral rehearsal rooms, 24 practice rooms, a music electronic technology suite, and a 600-seat recital hall. A prime site was available across the street, so the department expanded by adding the needed spaces in the Music Instruction Building. Sursa Performance Hall provides an extraordinary environment for live performance, electronic recording, electronic playback, and variable acoustics in the context of a solid, serious, classical, shoebox recital hall. Opened in August, 2004, the results are visually and acoustically stunning.
