Hylton Performing Arts Center - George Mason University - Manassas, Virginia

George Mason University is partnering with Prince William County to create a performing arts center of national significance. The opening gala was held on May 21, 2010.

Facilities include:
  • A 1300-seat horseshoe opera house with a large proscenium stage and complete stage equipment.
  • A 200-seat Rehearsal Performance Space with catwalks, control room, large stage lighting system and backstage support facilities. The Rehearsal Performance Space is equipped and planned for acting and directing classes, professional drama productions, dance class, dance recital, orchestra rehearsal, and music recital.
  • Art Gallery.
  • Dressing rooms.
  • Wardrobe room.
  • Scene shop.
  • Costume shop.

Hylton Performing Arts Center 1300-seat Merchant Hall fly gallery right. The fly gallery has a second set of rope locks to allow moving the flymen to the gallery when the deck is very busy. Normally these locks remain open while the locks downstairs are in use.
